I hope everyone is keeping warm and enjoying the off-season. There is plenty happening around the club, so here is the latest update.
Membership Fees Due – 31 July
A reminder that annual membership fees are due by 31 July.
The membership fees for the 2026–27 season are:
- $320 – Full Membership
- $260 – Transferring Member (second year free)
- $200 – New Bowler
- $130 – Social Membership
Membership fees can be paid at the club by cash or EFTPOS. Please note that EFTPOS transactions incur a 1.8% surcharge. Our preferred payment method is electronic funds transfer (EFT).

Officials Required
The club is looking to increase the number of accredited Measurers and Umpires within our membership.
Bowls SA will be conducting accreditation courses at Prospect Broadview Bowling Club on 18 and 25 September. If you’ve ever considered becoming an official, now is the perfect opportunity.
Please refer to the course information and registration link for further details.
We encourage members to consider becoming accredited and helping support the smooth running of competitions at both club and association level.
Green Closures During Inclement Weather
As we head through winter, there may be occasions when the greens need to be closed due to wet weather.
We understand that everyone is keen to get out on the greens whenever possible. However, just because the sun is shining doesn’t necessarily mean the greens are dry enough for play. Moisture beneath the surface can still leave the greens vulnerable to damage.
Our Greenkeeper has the responsibility of ensuring the greens are protected and remain in the best possible condition for the season ahead. Decisions to close the greens are never made lightly and are based on preserving the quality of the playing surface for the benefit of all members.
We ask everyone to please respect the Greenkeeper’s decision whenever the greens are closed. Your cooperation helps ensure our greens remain in excellent condition throughout the year.
Social Bowls
Social bowls continue every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, with excellent numbers attending despite the chilly weather. It has also been great to see players from other clubs joining us, reinforcing the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that Prospect Broadview Bowling Club is known for.
A sincere thank you to Chris Seaton, John Haseloff, Frank Kelly and Peter Kelly for volunteering their time to organise and manage these sessions. Your efforts ensure these days continue to be well run and enjoyable for everyone, and your ongoing commitment is greatly appreciated.
New Club Shirts
Our new club shirts are now in the final stages of design, and we’re excited to share them with you soon.
Maryann Jeffs has been doing a fantastic job overseeing this project and has been working closely with our supplier to ensure we end up with a shirt that the club can be proud of. I’m sure you will all be delighted with the finished product.
Further information will be provided shortly, including sizing sessions and ordering details. Every financial member will receive one complimentary club shirt, with additional shirts available for purchase should you wish to order more.
A sincere thank you to Maryann for the time, effort and attention to detail she has dedicated to this project. Your hard work is greatly appreciated and has been instrumental in bringing the new club shirts to life.
Clubroom Renovations Complete
What a fantastic transformation! The clubroom ceiling renovations have now been completed, and the club is looking brighter, fresher and more inviting than ever. The finished result has given our clubhouse a real lift and has been well worth the wait.
We would like to sincerely thank the City of Prospect Council for supporting the project and proceeding with these much-needed improvements. Their investment has enhanced our facilities and created an even better environment for members and visitors alike.
A huge thank you also goes to the many volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to help pack up the clubrooms before the work commenced, and then clean and unpack everything afterwards. Your willingness to lend a hand made the process run smoothly and is a wonderful example of the spirit of our club.
A special shout-out to Chad and Andrew, who worked alongside me to repaint behind the bar, giving the area a fresh, modern and brighter look. The transformation has really completed the space, and the results speak for themselves.
To everyone who contributed in any way—thank you. Your time, effort and pride in our club have helped make Prospect Broadview Bowling Club an even better place to enjoy our sport and socialise together.
Upcoming Events
Lions Club Biggest Morning Tea
Friday, 3 July – From 10.00 am
Join us at the club as we support the Lions Club Biggest Morning Tea. All proceeds from the Wrong Bias Tin on the day will be donated to this worthy cause.
Come along, enjoy a cuppa and some great company, and help support an important community fundraiser. We encourage all members to get behind this fantastic initiative.
Community Quiz Night
Saturday, 18 July 2026
Doors Open: 6.45 pm
Quiz Starts: 7.15 pm
Finish: Approximately 10.30 pm
The club is pleased to host the Prospect Local Environment Group (PLEG) and the Prospect Local History Group for their annual Community Quiz Night fundraiser.
Gather a team, book a table and join in what promises to be a fun-filled evening of friendly competition while supporting two local community organisations. It would be great to see plenty of PBBC members in attendance.
