SPECIAL COACHING SESSION – TUESDAY 24 NOVEMBER

We are excited to announce a special 90-minute coaching session at 12.30pm on Tuesday 24th November, conducted by Isaac Trenorden.

Isaac brings an impressive level of experience and knowledge to the game, and we are very fortunate to have him share his expertise with our members.

A little about Isaac:

  • Head Coach at Sturt Bowling Club.
  • 19 years as a bowler, including 11 years as a Premier League player.
  • Part of three Premier League premiership-winning teams and a regular finals competitor.
  • Current State Team representative.
  • Current Under 18 State Team Coach.
  • Presenter of the Bowls Australia Club Coach accreditation course.
  • Manager of Bowls Operations at Bowls SA.

The session will focus on line and length, providing a great opportunity to develop your technique and improve your consistency on the green.

Session details:

  • Date: Tuesday 24 November
  • Time: 12.30pm
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Maximum participants: 24
  • Member contribution: $10 per person

The club will subsidise the remaining cost of the session as part of our commitment to supporting the growth and development of our members.

Places are strictly limited to 24 participants, so you will need to register your attendance with me before the session. Places will be allocated on a first-in, first-served basis.

Please note this session is available to Full Members only.

A big thank you to our club coach, Ray Tuckfield, who fully supports this initiative and the opportunity it provides for our members.

REGULAR CLUB COACHING

Our regular coaching sessions with club coach Ray Tuckfield continue each week:

  • Tuesdays: 12.30pm full members only
  • Fridays: 5.00pm open to full and social members

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come along! Whether you’re just starting out, looking to build confidence or wanting to fine-tune your skills, Ray is there to help you get the most out of your game.

There’s always something new to pick up, no matter how long you’ve been playing!

TOURNAMENT GAMES – IMPORTANT UPDATE

Tournament games are progressing nicely, and it’s great to see members getting involved.

To help ensure these games can continue to be played and scheduled, Friday social bowls will be suspended for the next two weeks. This is the perfect opportunity to get your tournament games organised and played.

A reminder to please record your scheduled game date and time on the games board. This is important so our Greenkeeper is aware of rink requirements and can plan accordingly.

A Green Update: Contrary to an earlier Facebook post from Chad, A Green will remain OPEN this Sunday for members wishing to practise or play a tournament game.

BOARD VACANCY – ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE OFFICER

The Board currently has a vacancy for the position of Assistant Executive Officer, and we are looking for a volunteer interested in becoming more involved in the running of our club.

We would love to hear from someone who has skills and experience they can bring to the role, along with a genuine desire to help PBBC continue to grow, both on and off the greens.

Being involved on the Board is a great way to contribute to the club, support its future direction and help make a difference to our membership and wider bowling community.

If you are interested in finding out more about the position, please have a chat with a Board member.

CLUB SUPER CHALLENGE

PBBC has nominated a team for this season’s Club Super Challenge, with John Haseloff taking on the role of coordinator.

The Club Super Challenge is played on Sunday evenings at 6.00pm, and we have two games scheduled before the Christmas break:

  • Sunday 15 November
  • Sunday 29 November – PBBC will host this round.

If you are interested in being part of the Super Challenge team, please let John know.

It’s another great opportunity to represent our club, enjoy some competitive bowls and get involved in a different format of the game.

And finally, welcome back John! Great to have you touching down in Australia tonight. We look forward to seeing you back at the club.

OPEN FOURS GALA DAY – A ROARING SUCCESS!

Our recent Open Fours Gala Day was a roaring success, both on and off the greens!

The weather gods certainly smiled upon us on the day, although I’m quite sure President Rob was feeling a little anxious on Sunday evening as the rain and thunderstorms rolled in!

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the day to make the event such a success. From organising the games to catering, bar duties and everything in between, it takes a tremendous team effort to deliver an event of this size.

Your hard work and enthusiasm helped create a fun, enjoyable and well-organised day for everyone involved.

Well done, everyone, and thank you for making it such a great day for PBBC!

NIGHT OWLS

Our Night Owls season is well underway, with plenty of activity on the greens and a great atmosphere around the club.

A big thank you to everyone who continues to support the competition, whether playing, volunteering, helping in the kitchen or behind the bar. It takes a team effort to make Night Owls the success it is, and we appreciate everyone’s contribution.

Keep spreading the word and encouraging friends, family and newcomers to come along and give bowls a try!

OUR CONDOLENCES

The club extends its heartfelt condolences to Carol Manning following the unexpected passing of her partner, Jude Creswell.

Carol and Jude have been part of our Tuesday Night Owls family for many years. Jude loved her bowls and, just as importantly, the friendship, fun and camaraderie that came with Tuesday nights at the club.

She was a valued part of our Night Owls community and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Our thoughts are with Carol, her family and friends at this difficult time.

That’s all for now. Thanks to everyone who continues to contribute to making Prospect Broadview Bowling Club such a great place to play, socialise and be involved.

See you on the greens!
